I received my Ph.D. in Animal Ecology in 1992 at the University of Umeĺ and my docentship in the same area in 1997. After a post doc at
the University of New Mexico (1993-1995), I held a research professorship at
the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science, University of Umeĺ,
Sweden. Since January 2002, I am a Professor in Animal Ecology at the
Department of Ecology and Genetics, Uppsala University. My area of research
interest is evolutionary genetics and evolutionary ecology, broadly defined.
Current research projects involve (A) the evolutionary significance of
epistatic interactions between mitochondrial and nuclear DNA, (B) the
evolutionary implications of sexual conflict, (C) the evolution of animal
genitalia and seminal fluid proteins and (D) speciation. My research is
primarily funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR) and the European Research Council (ERC).
